We tell you what not to buy, too. The cast iron skillet is the classic gift for someone who cooks. It weighs about 5 lb, so for a grandparent, every lift out of the oven is a two-hand job. Our quiz leaves it out for a grandparent who cooks, and picks lighter. First we rule out the wrong one. Then we pick from what is left.

Why I built this

The December list

  1. The names were easy. Each December, I listed Mom, Dad, my in-laws, and my wife, then sat stuck on what to give them.
  2. The store did not help. Store pages showed the same candles as last year, so I bought a gift card — the gift that says: “I remembered the day. I just do not know you.”
  3. Start with the person. Five questions ask what they love and what I can spend, then pick from 255 ideas checked by hand. Each pick says why it fits them.

Who made this

Made by a dad, on the side

I'm Billy, a dad in Redmond, Washington. I build these tools on the side, with AI — one idea, one website, no company behind it. The December list above is mine: the stuck names, the gift card, all of it.

How it works

Five questions. Five gift ideas.

  1. You answer. Five quick questions: who it is for, what they are into, what you can spend.
  2. We search the 255 checked ideas. Your price range is firm, and no store can pay to rank.
  3. You get five picks. Best match first. Each pick says why it fits, and your list stays in your browser. When a popular gift is wrong for them, we name it, say why, and leave it out.
Do you link to stores?

Yes, one plain link.

Every idea is a type, not a brand.

Most picks carry a price-check link.

It opens a shopping search for the pick's name.

The site sells nothing and earns nothing from the link.

How are the five picks chosen?

Your budget is a hard filter.

Your interests score each idea.

A picked style puts a matching idea first.

Same answers, same order, every time.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no signup and no email. Your saved list lives in your browser only.

Is my list private?

Yes. It is stored on your device and never sent anywhere. Sharing only happens when you tap a share button.

Who made this?

Billy, a dad in Redmond, Washington, built this on the side, with AI. Free, no ads, no accounts. Built with Muse.

What we don't do

We don't sell gifts, and no store can pay to place an idea. Your quiz answers stay in your browser and stay private. The one exception: words on the Ask page are read by an AI helper, then discarded. There is nothing to sign up for, and we ask for no email. Every idea comes from our own hand-checked list of 255, ranked for the person.

Works with your AI

Your AI can run this site's gift picker. Ideas come from the same 255 checked gifts, matched to your person and your budget — not ads.
